saya masih bingung perbedaan report dan deskriptive, serta apa yang dimaksud konflik
di paragraf naratif, apa bedanya dengan recount, apakah anekdot sama dengan
spoof?bagaimana fungsi paragraf expository analysis,kalau bisa contohnya dong..

Perbedaan Report dan Deskriptif:

Kedua jenis teks tersebut sama – sama menggambarkan (mendeskripsikan). Teks Deskriptif yang digambarkan spesifik, sedangkan Report yang digambarkan secara umum. Contohnya, Teks yang berjudul ‘Cats’ merupakan teks Report karena menggambarkan ciri – ciri, sifat, dan jenis kucing secara umum(general). Sedangkan teks yang berjudul ‘My Cat’ merupakan teks Deskriptif karena yang digambarkan adalah kucing saya, bukan sifat, jenis, ataupun ciri kucing lainnya.<br>

Konflik merupakan ciri dalam teks Naratif, ketika suatu cerita tidak memiliki konflik, maka teks tersebut termasuk Recount. Konflik merupakan puncak masalah dari sebuah cerita. Misal dalam cerita ‘Snow Maiden’, konfliknya muncul saat teman – teman Snow Maiden memaksa sia meloncat ke lingkaran api yang akhirnya permintaan tersebut dituruti oleh Snow Maiden. Akhirnya Snow Maiden mencair.<br>

Jika ditinjau dari Generic Structure nya, teks Narratif dan Recount sama – sama dimulai dengan Orientation.

Naratif: Orientation – Complication – Resolution

Recount : Orientation – Event (s) – Reorientation

Anecdote, Tujuan Komunikatif: Menceritakan insiden seperti peristiwa lucu atau tidak lazim baik berdasarkan khayalan atau kejadian nyata yang bertujuan menghibur.  

Spoof, Tujuan Komunikatif: Menceritakan kejadian nyata yang pernah dialami, dengan akhir ceritera yang tidak lazim (lucu) yang disebut twist. Tujuan teks ini adalah berbagi ceritera yang menghibur. 

Analytical Exposition, Tujuan Komunikatif: Memaparkan dan mempengaruhi audience (pendengar atau pembaca) bahwa ada masalah

Analytical Exposition, Ciri Kebahasaan:   Abstract nouns,·nouns, misalnya car, pollution, leaded petrol car, dsb.   Technical verbs, misalnya species of·misalnya policy, government, dsb.   Action verbs,· Relating verbs, misalnya It is important, dsb. ·animals, dsb.   Thinking verbs, misalnya Many people believe, dsb·misalnya She must save, dsb.   Modal adverbs, misalnya· Modal verbs, misalnya we must preserve, dsb. ·  Bahasa· Connectives, misalnya firstly, secondly,dsb. ·certainly, we, dsb.  evaluatif, misalnya important, valuable, trustworthy, dsb. * Kalimat pasif

Contoh Analytical Exposition

SHOULD CHILDREN WEAR HATS AT SCHOOL?<br>

(Statement of position):<br>

I believe that you should always wear a hat at school when you are playing outside , to stop you from getting sunburn.<br>

(Argument 1):<br>

Firstly, if you don’t wear a hat, you will get sunburn ant the sunburn is painful.<br>

(Argument 2):<br>

Secondly, sunburn could lead to skin cancer. Sunburn can lead to health problems later in life. Many older people suffer from skin cancer which can kill them.<br>

(Reinforcement of position statement):<br>

In my opinion all school students should wear hats.<br>

Contoh cerita Naratif:<br>

The Boy who cried “Wolf”<br>

There was once a shepherd-boy who kept his flock at a little distance from the village. Once he thought he would play a trick on the villagers and have some fun at their expense. So he ran toward the village crying out, with all his might,-- <br>

"Wolf! Wolf! Come and help! The wolves are at my lambs!" <br>

The kind villagers left their work and ran to the field to help him. But when they got there the boy laughed at them for their pains; there was no wolf there. <br>

Still another day the boy tried the same trick, and the villagers came running to help and got laughed at again. Then one day a wolf did break into the fold and began killing the lambs. In great fright, the boy ran for help. "Wolf! Wolf!" he screamed. "There is a wolf in the flock! Help!" <br>

The villagers heard him, but they thought it was another mean trick; no one paid the least attention, or went near him. And the shepherd-boy lost all his sheep. <br>

Moral value: <br>

That is the kind of thing that happens to people who lie: even when they tell the truth no one believes them. <br>

Tujuan Komunikatif teks Naratif: Menghibur pendengar atau pembaca dengan pengalaman nyata atau khayal. Ciri naratif adalah adanya unsur konflik (masalah) dan resolusi (penyelesaian masalah). Jumlah masalah atau penyelesaiannya mungkin hanya satu, mungkin juga lebih.

Gene Splicing<br>
Issue:<br>
Genetic research has produced both exciting and frightening possibilities. Scientists are now able to create new forms of life in the laboratory due to the development of gene splicing<br>
Arguments for<br>
On the one hand, the ability to create life in the laboratory could greatly benefit mankind. For example, because it is very expensive to obtain insulin from natural sources, scientists have developed a method to manufacture it inexpensively in the laboratory. Another beneficial application of gene splicing is in agriculture.<br>
Elaboration:<br>
Scientists foresee the day when new plants will be developed using nitrigen from the air instead of form fertilizer. Therefore, food production could be increased. In addition, entirely new plants could be developed to feed the worlds hungry people.
Argument against<br>
Not everyone is excited about gene splicing, however some people feel that it could have terrible consequences. A laboratory accident, for example might cause an epidemic of an unknown disease that could wipe out humanity.<br>
Conclusion:<br>
As a result of this controversy, the government has made rules to control genetics experiments. While some membersof the scientific community feel that these rules are too strict, many other people feel that they are still not strict enough.<br>

Boleh tanya ga ?? contoh paragraph deduktif,induktif,campuranparagraph seluruh .
tolong tandai pikiran utamanya ya ??

Paragraf deduktif dimulai dengan ide paragraf/pikiran utama dari paragraf  kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uraian secara rinci beserta contohnya. Pada akhir paragraf dituliskan satu kalimat kesimpulan. Sementara paragraf induktif diawali dengan contoh beserta gambaran rinci dari sesuatu yang diceritakan baru diikuti dengan kesimpulan dari paparan contoh contoh tadi/ pikiran utama paragraf. Paragraf campuran merupakan kombinasi dari paragraf deduktif dan induktif. Pikiran utama paragraf bisa berada pada awal paragraf, di tengah paragraf atau di akhir paragraf.

Contoh teks Dissusion:<br>

Boxing<br>

There was a lot of discussion about whether boxing should be baned.<br>

The people who agree with this idea, such as Sarah, claim that if they do carry on boxing they should wear something to protect their heads. They also argue that people who do boxing could have brain damange and get seriously hurt. A further point they make is that most of the people that have died did have families.<br>

However, they are also strong arguments against this point of view. Another group of people believe that boxing should not be banned. They say that why they invent it if it is a dangerous sport. They say that boxing is a good sport, people enjoy it. A furthermore reason is if they ban boxing it will  ruin people’s careers.

After looking at the different points of view and the evidence for them I think boxing should be banned because five hundred people have died in boxing since 1884.<br>
