anda menyebutkan perbedaan Report dan description adalah report menyelaskan secara
global (cont.DOG) dan description secara detail (cont. my dog). Bagaimana dengan
teks berjudul Pelycan dan Platypus? Dalam K6 Board of Studies keduanya dimasukan
dalam report text, kenapa bukan description, bukankah keduanya sudah rinci? Bukan
berjudul Bird  atau Mammal. Logika yang sama untuk Temple dan Borobudur. Bagaimana
kalau judulnya The Buddhist Temple? Mana yang report dan mana yang description dari
ketiganya.Bagaimana menentukan global dan rincinya? Mohon dijawab. Thanks

Memang perbedaan antara report dan descriptive adalah report text secara umum dan descriptive secara detail dengan contoh teks DOG (Report) dan MY DOG (Descriptive). Teks MY DOG adalah descriptive karena sudah jelas itu adalah anjing saya, lalu bagaimana dengan PELYCAN dan PLATYPUS? Ketika anda membaca kedua teks tersebut apakah sudah jelas PELYCAN/PLATYPUS yang mana? Tentu saja belum jelas, karena PELYCAN atau PLATYPUS adalah nama species, jadi kedua teks tersebut adalah report.  Akan menjadi Descriptive text jika teksnya menjadi: My Platypus, dll.  

Begitu juga untuk Temple, The Buddhist Temple, dan Borobudur. Untuk teks Borobudur sudah pasti descriptive karena sudah jelas, bahwa hanya ada satu candi Borobudur. Namun untuk Temple, sudah pasti itu report teks kalau masih belum jelas tentang temple yang mana, demikian juga untuk The Buddhist Temple, jika ketika kita membaca teks tersebut masih belum jelas The Buddhist Temple yang mana, maka itu adalah teks report karena hanya menjelaskan deskripsi The Buddhist Temple secara umum. Many young people have difficulty deciding where they will live when the time comes to leave home and make their own way in the world. Among the more common alternatives are sharing a house or flat with other young people, and finding full board, and lodgings in someone else’s home.

            Renting a house with other young people offers a high degree of freedom and independence. On the down side, renting involves a variety of responsibilities that may be more than you wish to take on. This would mean you would be responsible for making large rental payments if one or more of the people you are sharing with should move out of the house or flat. It might also mean that you are held financially responsible if they damage dwelling.

            Finding board and lodgings, on the other hand, has significant advantages. Generally you have no responsibility for the cleaning or maintenance of the dwelling or its gardens, other than to take reasonable care of your room. However, living in board and lodging circumstances has its drawbacks too. You have less freedom and flexibility in your lifestyle.

            In the end, the decision each person makes will depend on their own personal valuing of independence and of convenience, as well as their feeling of readiness for taking on the considerable financial and other responsibilities of house or flat rental.

My Unforgettable moment

 

 

One day, when I still in the 5^th grade of elementary school, my teacher ask me to join the “Story telling contest” in SMPN 1 Ciamis. But, I think I couldn’t join that contest. I repeatedly ask my self, can I tell the story in English? After I think for several times, it’s not too bad. Although, eventually I couldn’t be a winner but I will have an experience for the future.

 

I opportunity feel inferior, when I sawed my other friends have master theirs story. And I even try too for master my stories. Finally, the competition day has come. I also competed with the other contestant from the other school. It’s my first competition that I ever have. I never expected, I can be a winner in this competition. I’m so happy when the master of ceremony calls my name and invites me to enter the parade.  Hmmmmpp... I think all of this is my unforgettable moment.

            Sunlight brings energy to the earth. This light turns to heat when it hits the ground. The heat in turn seeps away from the earth, but the atmosphere slows the heat’s escape. The atmosphere is a layer of air around the planet. It holds in some of the warm.

            The atmosphere is a mixture of many gases. In the last 250 years, this mixture has been changing. The amounts of gases such as methane and carbon dioxide have been rising. These gases trap heat more effectively than other gases. They make the earth’s atmosphere act like the glass in a greenhouse. It lets sunlight in, but I doesn’t let heat out. As a result, heat is building up close to the surface.

            Global warming is moving at a faster rate, in spite of our efforts to deal it.

Once upon time, a man had a wonderful parrot. There was no other parrot like it. The parrot could say every word, except one word. The parrot would not say the name of the place where it was born. The name of the place was Catano.

The man felt excited having the smartest parrot but he could not understand why the parrot would not say Catano. The man tried to teach the bird to say Catano however the bird kept not saying the word.

At the first, the man was very nice to the bird but then he got very angry. “You stupid bird!” pointed the man to the parrot. “Why can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t you say the word? Say Catano! Or I will kill you” the man said angrily. Although he tried hard to teach, the parrot would not say it. Then the man got so angry and shouted to the bird over and over; “Say Catano or I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ll kill you”. The bird kept not to say the word of Catano.

One day, after he had been trying so many times to make the bird say Catano, the man really got very angry. He could not bear it. He picked the parrot and threw it into the chicken house. There were four old chickens for next dinner “You are as stupid as the chickens. Just stay with them” Said the man angrily. Then he continued to humble; “You know, I will cut the chicken for my meal. Next it will be your turn, I will eat you too, stupid parrot”. After that he left the chicken house.

The next day, the man came back to the chicken house. He opened the door and was very surprised. He could not believe what he saw at the chicken house. There were three death chickens on the floor. At the moment, the parrot was standing proudly and screaming at the last old chicken; “Say Catano or I’ll kill you”.

            Global warming is the changing of climate. Temperatures vary from day to day and year to year. Global warming is very dangerous. Why is it so?

            Global warming melts the ice at the poles. This would then cover all the flat coastal lands. People would have less land on which to live or grow food.

            Plants and animals are adapted to their climates. If the climate changes rapidly, many may not be able to adapt. Some species will simply die out. Others may spread to cooler climates. They will be struggling with species already in place.

            So what can we do to save the planet? People should stop cutting down forest and burning the wood.
