Pak/Bu, untuk bacaan ini kenapa kok jenis teksnya bisa report ya? Bukankah menjelaskan suatu negara tertentu, yaitu Cameroon? Mohon penjelasannya langsung ya, Pak/Bu. Terima kasih.

Cameroon is a West African Country of ten million people which has been very successful in growing food for its people, unlike many other West African countries since 1971 it has doubled its output of major foodstuffs such as maize and potatoes. Now it is one of the few African countries able to feed itself. This was not the case five years ago when the country was only 75 – 80% self-suffocation in food. Although isolated pockets of hunger still remain, the World Bank nowadays gives Cameroon money to sustain, not to achieve, self-sufficiency in food production.

Coba perhatikan contoh teks berikut:Text 1I have a pet. It is a dog and I call it Brownie. It is a Chinese breed. It is small, fluffy, and cute. It has got thick brown fur. When I cuddle it, the fur feels soft. Brownie doesn’t like bones. Everyday it eats soft food like steamed rice, fish or bread. (Bergenre DESCRIPTIVE karena menceritakan tentang seekor anjing yang bernama Brownie)Text 2A kangaroo is an animal found only n Australia, although is has a small relative, called a wallaby, which lives on the Australian island in Tasmania and also in New Guinea.(Bergenre REPORT karena menceritakan tentang Kangaroo secara umum)Coba perhatikan lagi contoh berikut:CAT belongs to mammal… (report)MY CAT has thick fur…. (descriptive) Perhatikan juga susunan berikut:Genre : DescriptiveSocial Function : To describe a particular person, place, or thingGeneric Structure : 1. Identification (identify phenomenon to be described)2. Description (describe parts, qualities, characteristics)Bandingkan dengan:Genre : ReportSocial Function : To describe the way things are (for example a man-made thing, animals, plants).Text organization :1. General Classification (Introduce the topic of the report such as: the class or the subclass)2. Identification (tell the shape/form, parts, behaviour, habitat, way of survival)Well, must be clear enough ya.  Kalau masih belum jelas, boleh nanya ko.

ass..

mohon jawabannya segera..

saya agak bingung tentnag materi barganing & certainty..bisa berikan contoh dan membuat percakapnnya..

soalnya ini tugas buat besoktugas buat besok

ADVERBS OF CERTAINTY

These adverbs express how certain or sure we feel about an action or event.

Common adverbs of certainty:

certainly, definitely, probably, undoubtedly, surely

Adverbs of certainty go before the main verb but after the verb 'to be':

  • He definitely left the house this morning.
  • He is probably in the park.

With other auxiliary verb, these adverbs go between the auxiliary and the main verb:

  • He has certainly forgotten the meeting.
  • He will probably remember tomorrow.

Sometimes these adverbs can be placed at the beginning of the sentence:

  • Undoubtedly, Winston Churchill was a great politician.

BE CAREFUL! with surely. When it is placed at the beginning of the sentence, it means the speaker thinks something is true, but is looking for confirmation:

Example:

  • Surely you've got a bicycle?

Today, supermarkets are found in almost every large city in the world. But the first supermarket was opened only 75 years ago. It was opened in New York by a man named Michael Cullen.

What makes a supermarket different from other types of stores? In supermarket, goods are placed on open shelves. The customers choose what they want and take them to the cashier themselves, so fewer employees are needed than in other stores. Goods are usually sold for a lower price, because larger quantities can be sold in supermarket than in the small shop. Large parking spaces are usually provided for customers, and many supermarkets are kept open until late at night. This makes them popular with shoppers. Beside food some other goods are sold, such as household equipment, plants and even clothing.

Pertanyaan2nya adalah:

1.   The text mainly tells us about ………

      a.   types of stores

      b.   the supermarket

      c.   the quality of goods in supermarket

      d.   variety of goods in supermarket

      e.   the customers of supermarket

      d.   to inform readers about the existence of supermarket
