Another common blues instrument that flourished in the rural South during the 1920s and 1930s was the blues harp of harmonica. It was played mainly in hands called jug bands that commonly performed on street corners, in saloons, and at country stores. Jug bands used a variety of instruments including the banjo, guitar, wash board, kazoo, fiddle, jugs, and blues harp. In these bands, the blues harp was used primarily for melodic and rhythmic support. The earliest evidence of the harp used as a solo or lead instrument in the jug bands was in the late 1920s, as heard in the recordings on George “Bullet” Williams.
Other group harp men, such as Sonny Terry, Little Walter, and Sonny Boy Williams, followed Williams, revolutionizing the harp’s role as a lead instrument.

A forest is a community of many living things. Trees are like apartment buildings. Some birds and insects live high in the tree tops, others lower down. Some animals live on the forest floor, others underground, among the roots. Every part of a tree is food for some animals. Birds eat fruits and seeds. Deer feed on leaves and twigs. Squirrels eat nut. Porcupine eat inner bark, some insects eat root, some drink sap, may eat green leaves and others chew tunnels under the bark. Many animals eat insects or other animals instead of plants. Insects are eaten by birds, lizards, snakes, toads and larger insect. They in turn are eaten by other animals. Pak/Bu, pertanyaan saya yg ini belum terjawab sampai sekarang. Mohon jawabannya SEGERA ya, Pak/Bu. Terima kasih.
My name is Romanus and I live in Yogyakarta. I’m a third-year high school student who failed the national final examination, in May 2006. I got 3 in Math, even though I got 8,60 in English and 9,20 in Indonesian. And those who got a 5 in all subjects passed. It’s very ironic.
The government decides that students pass only on the result of the final examination (UAN) without considering the student’s learning process, which lasts three years. My question is, “Can the final examination guarantee the quality of education in this country?”
The worst thing is that I was admitted to the school dentistry at Gajah Mada University. Now I must face the reality that I’ve lost my chance and my dream is shattered.
I would say that the UAN is not everything. Therefore, the government should consider allowing the students who failed in the first final exam to take another test.
Pertanyaannya adalah:
What is the best title for the text above?
a. Failed students should be given another exam.
b. Failed students should be admitted to universities.
c. Final exam should be changed to another test.
d. Final exam should not be held anymore.
e. Students should not fail in the final exam.
Apakah jawaban yg benar itu yg A ya, Pak/Bu?
yes

Dear Emily,
How are you doing? Remember me? We met at “Smutzer Primate Museum” in Ragunan Zoo in Jakarta last month. I am really glad that you chose my country to spend the vacation. Sorry, I can’t enclose our photos here because my youngest brother, Irfan, deleted them. I had not kept them yet in the camera. Here I give you some photos of Irfan’s birthday. We celebrated it by having lunch together. You can see my big family. My mom roasted 3 big fish for us. And we had not chili sauce or sambal to eat with that roasted fish. Hmm…… yummy!
How about your activity this semester? You’re in class 11th,

Last holiday, I took a visit to my uncle in Bogor.
One Sunday morning, my cousin and I have a look to the city. We traveled by tram.
When we arrived at the railway station in Depok, we bought two tickets then we waited for the tram. After a moment, the tram arrived. It was crowded. We got on among the people. The tram began to move and ran along the way. It stopped regularly in every station we passed.
On the tram I questioned to myself how would the conductor check the tickets in such compartment and when I got off in Jakarta station, no conductors did it. I felt tired of keeping the tickets on my hand. So I threw them somewhere.
When we wanted to get out the station, a guard stopped us at the gate checking the tickets. “Oh my God, “I have thrown them away,” I said. Avoiding to have a quarrel, we bought two other tickets for an exit.
Pertanyaannya adalah:
What does the text tell us about?
a. My last holiday in my cousin’s
b. The writer’s holiday in Bogor

d. Traveling by a crowded tram

Pak/Bu, mohon penjelasannya kenapa synonym nya crazy about itu fanatic ya? 'Mad' itu bukan termasuk synonym nya 'crazy about' ya, Pak/Bu?
Koes Plus was well-known as a pop music group in the seventies until the eighties. At that time, most Indonesian people were (1) crazy about their songs because they were nice and simple. Every radio station broadcasted their songs and always put them in the top of music. Their music shows were always full of (2) audience.
Synonymnya adalah:
1. a. fanatic
b. mad
c. drunken
d. lazy
To the point aja ya Dik, untuk mencari synonim kata kita harus melihat konteksnya. Dalam teks tersebut diatas, jelas maksud dari kata crazy about adalah fanatic yang mana artinya suka sekali atau nge fans.
Sedangkan crazy yang synonimnya mad contohnya adalah:
Look! The man over there is CRAZY. He is laughing by himself.
Thank you
