ini dialognya;

Nabila : Hi, Sari! How are things?

Sari : Fine, and you?

Nabila : I’m feeling great today. How was your weekend at the beach?

Sari : Terrific! We had a lovely time there. You should go there.

Nabila : Really? Hey, what a beautiful blouse you are wearing, it matches your skirt.

Sari : Thanks. My mother gave it to me on my birthday.

Nabila : Wow! That’s wonderful. Oh, Sari, I almost forget. Can I ask you something?

Sari : Oh, sure. What’s up?

Nabila : Have you finished typing the annual report we made last week?

Sari : Yes, mean this?

Nabila : Yeah, Hmmm, I think this report is excellent. Thanks a lot Sari. You did a great job. Now I have to give it to the director immediately.

Sari : OK. You’d better hurry. He may be waiting for it.

Nabila : Well, he probably is. Thanks again, Sari. Have a nice day!

Adverb=possible

Adjective = possibly

Noun = possibility

Contoh kata lain : able, abily, ability

The adverbs in English

Adverbs tell us in what way someone does something. Adverbs can modify verbs, adjectives or other adverbs.

Adjectives tell us something about a person or a thing. Adjectives can modify nouns or pronouns.

Mandy drives carefully.

Mandy is very careful.

 

Mandy is a careful driver. This sentence is about Mandy, the driver, so use the adjective.

Mandy drives carefully. This sentence is about her way of driving, so use the adverb.

Tip: Not all words ending in -ly are adverbs.

Adverb (kata keterangan)

Adverb sering dibentuk dengan menambahkan -ly di belakang adjective. Contoh:

  • quick (adjective) - He’s quick at learning new things.
  • quickly (adverb) - He learns quickly.
  • bad (adjective) - He didn’t get a bad test score.
  • badly (adverb) - He didn’t do badly in his test.

Untuk adverb yang terbentuk dari adjective yang berakhiran dengan huruf “-y” ganti “-y” dengan “-i” dan tambahkan “-ly“. Contoh:

  • easy (adjective) - He thinks math is easy.
  • easily (adverb) - He can do math easily.
  • happy (adjective) - He’s a happy man.
  • happily (adverb) - He works happily every day.

Untuk adverb yang terbentuk dari adjective yang berakhiran dengan huruf “-le” ganti “-le” dengan “-ly“. Contoh:

  • simple (adjective) - The teacher makes difficult things simple.
  • simply (adverb) - He teaches simply and clearly.

Beberapa adverb sama dengan adjective. Contoh:

  • He runs fast (adverb) - He’s a fast runner. (adjective)
  • He studies hard. (adverb) - It’s a hard life. (adjective)

Adverb untuk “good” adalah “well“. Contoh:

  • She’s a good pianist.
  • She plays the piano well.

Adverb juga bisa mengubah adjective dan adverb-adverb lainnya. Contoh:

  • That’s a good book.
  • That’s a very good book.
  • She’s a talented girl.
  • She’s an incredibly talented girl.
  • You’re right!

When you attach a subordinate clause at the end of a main clause, you will generally use no punctuation, like this:

main clause +  + subordinate clause.

Tanya did poorly on her history exam  because her best friend Giselle insisted on gossiping during their study session the night before.

Jonathon spent his class time reading comic books  since his average was a 45 one week before final exams.

  •  Gerund phrase umumnya digunakan untuk memberikan keterangan atau    sebagai keterangan. 
  • Letak gerund phrase bisa pada awal kalimat.
  • Contoh :

 Looking out the window I found so many sun flowers bloom.
 Seeing the symptoms the doctor indicates taht the patient suffers from Dengue Fever.

 A Transitional Expression is a Transitional Phrase or a Conjunctive Adverb.

Transitional expressions help your reader to understand how you have organized your material,making it easier for them to move from one point to the next in your writing. Use Transitionalexpressions to: add ideas, emphasize ideas, illustrate ideas, compare/contrast ideas, show cause and effect, place ideas in time, and summarize ideas.

*Remember to use a semi-colon between independent clauses linked with a transitional expression: I learned all the rules and regulations; however, I never really learned to control the ball.

tentang Kinds of Genres........

bagaimana tips  agar mudah memahami materi tersebut ,

makcih 

 

 

 

Ada 5 jenis Genres dalam Bahasa Inggris SMP, yaitu: Procedure, Descriptive, Recount, Narrative, dan Recount text. Masing-masing teks tersebut memiliki karateristik yang berbeda. Jadi memang kita harus memahami dengan baik.

Caranya Aida harus banyak membaca teks, kemudian perhatikan ciri-cirinya..

 

  1. Teks Deskriptif. Adalah teks yang isinya mendiskripsikan sesuatu benda, orang atau tempat secara spesifik. Misalnya: My lovely house, My favourite teacher, Mr. John, atau Bali island. Teks ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara detail. ( to describe thing or person in detail).Tenses yang digunakan adalah present tense, karena isi dalam teks tersebut memang benar-benar mendiskripsikan apa adanya. Generic structurenya: Identification - Description.

 

  1. Teks Recount adalah teks yang isinya tentang pengalaman dan peristiwa yang terjadi  pada masa lampau. Misalnya: My unforgettable experience, My first Travelling to Lombok, dll. Teks ini bertujuan utk menceritakan kembali kejadian pada masa lampau ( to retell the past event). Tenses yang digunakan adalah simple past tenses, karena semua cerita yang ada dalam teks sudah terjadi di masa lampau. Generic structurenya: Orientation – Event(s) – Reorientation.

 

Untuk teks-teks yang lain, silakan anda membaca di buku pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Disana banyak sekali contoh dan penjelasannya, Selamat belajar.

Teks Report 

  • fungsinya untuk mendeskripsikan sesuatu secara umum ( describing thing in general )
  • Struktur teks tersebut : General clasification yang menggambarkan definisi benda atau tanaman atau binatang secara umum dan dilanjutkan dengan description ( mendeskripsikan benda atau binatang atau tanaman secara lebih rinci,meliputi habitatnya, bentuknya , cara reproduksinya dst )
Teks Recount
  • fungsinya menceritakan pengalaman kita.
  • struktur teksnya : Orientation yang berisi setting, kapan waktu kita melakukan kegiatan tersebut dan diikuti dengan series of events yang menggambarkan urutan kegiatan yg kita lakukan. Ditutup dengan reorientation yg berisi tentang kesan kita ketika melakukan kegiatan tersebut.

The importance of Reading

 

I personally think that reading is a very important activity in our life.  Why do I say so?  Firstly, by reading we can get a lot of knowledge about many things in the world such as Science, technology. Sports, arts, culture, etc written in either books, magazine, newspaper, etc.

Secondly, by reading we can get a lot of news and information about something happening in any parts of the world which can we see directly.

Another reason, reading can give us pleasure too.  When we are tired, we read books, newspaper or magazine on the entertainment coloumn such as comedy, short story, quiz, etc. To make us relaxed.

The last, reading can also take us to other parts of the world.  By reading a book about Irian Jaya we may feel we’re  really sitting in the jungles not at home in our rooms.

From the facts above, it’s obvious that everyone needs to read to get knowledge, information and also entertainment.  Or in summary we can say reading is truly important in our life.
