tlong donx bntu saya, saya gi btuh cntoh report text tentang peacock.... besok haruz dkumpulin, pliz bntu saya....

Peacocks are large, colorful pheasants (typically blue and green) known for their iridescent tails. These tail feathers, or coverts, spread out in a distinctive train that is more than 60 percent of the bird’s total body length and boast colorful "eye" markings of blue, gold, red, and other hues. The large train is used in mating rituals and courtship displays. It can be arched into a magnificent fan that reaches across the bird's back and touches the ground on either side. Females are believed to choose their mates according to the size, color, and quality of these outrageous feather trains.

The term "peacock" is commonly used to refer to birds of both sexes. Technically, only males are peacocks. Females are peahens, and together, they are called peafowl.

Suitable males may gather harems of several females, each of which will lay three to five eggs. In fact, wild peafowl often roost in forest trees and gather in groups called parties.

Peacocks are ground-feeders that eat insects, plants, and small creatures. There are two familiar peacock species. The blue peacock lives in India and Sri Lanka, while the green peacock is found in Java and Myanmar (Burma). A more distinct and little-known species, the Congo peacock, inhabits African rain forests.

Peafowl such as the blue peacock have been admired by humans and kept as pets for thousands of years. Selective breeding has created some unusual color combinations, but wild birds are themselves bursting with vibrant hues. They can be testy and do not mix well with other domestic birds.

The Queen’ Necklace

Once there was a queen. She went to take a bath, took off her necklace and hung it on a hook. A crow came and flew off with the necklace. When the bird found out that the necklace was not edible, he dropped it down. The necklace feel from the sky and dropped onto a tree. Under that tree, there is a flowing river in which all the dirt of the city was floating. Very dirty. When the queen came out of her bath, she saw the necklace was missing. She cried,” A thief has taken my necklace!” Was that crow a real thief ? She never knew, but still she said,” A thief has taken my necklace and I won’t eat any food until I get it back.” Now, nobody could find that necklace and the king offered that whoever would find that necklace and bring it to him, he would give half of the kingdom.

Some travelers were going by and they stopped under that tree to take some shelter and looked into that dirty river. “Oh there is the necklace,” they cried, “Now let us jump in to the water and take it out.” So they all jumped in to the river and swam deep, but they could not get anything. They came out and again saw the necklace was there. So, again, they jumped in but still did not get anything. Again and again they jumped in and came out from the river. Everytime they came out they still saw it. So they thought, “That thief is very clever. Whenever we come out he shows us the necklace but when we jump in he takes and hides it. He is very clever.”

After some time a huge crowd gathered, the king was passing and said,” What is matter, why are so many people there by river ?” The people said, “There is the necklace, King.” The king said, “Yes, that is the necklace, I should go and jump to take it.” But his Prime Minister said, “OK, King. I am going to jump in and get this necklace for you. “Then the king thought, “ if the Prime Minister gets the necklace for me, then half of kingdom will be his, so why should I lose my kingdom? These clothes is very fine, but they are not as expensive as half of the kingdom.” See, the king was very cunning. “I will jump in to the water,” he said. So he jumped into that dirty river with all his clothes on. He searched all around but he couldn’t get that necklace. He came out and said,” Well, the necklace is there and as soon as I jump in it disappears. Why should this be?”

Just then a guru, a man who knew a lot of knowledge, was passing by, and he said, ”This is neither a fasting day nor a holy day. What is the matter. Why are so many people gathered around here ?” and they said, “Sir, this is the matter. The necklace is there and we want to take it out.” He said, “Can’t you find it in the water?” They said, “No.” He said, “O.K. wait.”

Then he climbed the tree, took the necklace down and gave it to the king. In fact, the necklace in river was not real one. It was up there all the time but they could only see the reflection.

Lake Toba

Long, long ago, there was a boy who roamed around the world. He Stayed near a river.

Then he brought it home. The fish changed into a beautiful woman. And the scales of fish became gold coins. They got married. The boy promised not to tell the origin of his wife to other people.

One afternoon, he fished near the river and got a very big fish. He felt happy and surprised.

Finally, the woman went away went away and jump into the river. When the woman jumped into the river, it was raining heavily. The river was flooded. Then the area around the river became a large lake. People call it Lake Toba.

They had a son but he was very naughty and lazy. Once, the son was ordered to send meal and left the rest for his father. Thus, his father got angry so he hit his son and said, “How naughty you are. No wonder, you are really a fish child!” The son told his mother what his father had said. The woman was sad because her husband had broken his promise.

TEXT 1Class Picnic

Last Friday our school went to Centennial Park for a picnic

First our teachers marked the rolls and the we got on the buses. On the buses, everyone was chatting and eating. When we arrived at the park, some students played cricket, some played cards but others went for a walk with the teachers. At lunchtime, we sat together and had ourh picnic. Finally, at two o’clock we left for school.

We had a great day.

TEXT 2A visit to a sheep property

Last holidays I visited a sheep property. I helped in the shearing sheds and in the yards.

On the first day the Merino wethers were crutched. I helped by sweeping up after the rouseabout picked up the wool pieces. Shearers start early (at 7.30 am).

After lunch, we started shearing the lambs. There were more than 400 so we didn't finish until the next day. Once again I was sweeping and picking up dags.

I was tired by the end of the day in the shed but our work wasn't finished. We all had to help to get the wethers and lambs back into the paddocks. As well, we had to get a mob of ewes and their lambs into the yards for shearing the next day. Then it was time for tea (that's what my nanna calls dinner).

This was a very long day but I enjoyed it a lot.

“The Fairy Shilling.” Ó hEochaidh, Seán. Fairy Legends from Donegal. Dublin: Comhairle Bhéaloideas Éireann, ©1977. Used with the permission of Professor Ó Catháin and the Folklore of Ireland Council.

There was a man named Paddy Ó Gadhra living beyond in Malin Glen long ago. One evening he had gone west to Caiseal in Glencoimcille and when his business was finished he faced towards home. It was a fine moonlit night, and as he was going west by Dún Ált at Screig Mhór there was a woman standing at the side of the road with a basket beside her. He greeted her and she greeted him. She bent down and lifted the basket and walked in step with him along the road. He made out from the way she was changing the basket from hand to hand that it must be very heavy.

“Give me that basket, please,” he said, “and I will carry it a bit for you.”

She thanked him and handed the basket to him. When he took it he was very much surprised because it had no weight at all and he thought it must be empty. They walked on, but neither of them said who he or she was nor asked the other’s name. When they reached the crossroads at Malinmore Paddy said he was going to Malin Glen and maybe that was not the way she was going.

“O, it is!“ said she, “I am going east to Jimί Jeck’s house and I will be staying there till morning.”

She walked step by step with Paddy. The house she was making for was the next house to Paddy’s own on the east. He went as far as it with her and bade her farewell then. When he handed the basket to her, she asked him if he drank.

“Well,” said he, “when I am at a fair or market to be sure I will drink a glass.”

She put her hand in her pocket and handed a shilling to him.

“Now,” she said, “the next time you are in a tavern, drink my health!”

Then she bade him farewell. Paddy went to his own house and she went towards Jimί Jeck’s house and he saw her no more.

Next morning when Paddy rose he thought he would find out who the unknown woman was, and so he went up to Jimί Jeck’s and asked them who was this woman who had come to them last night.

“Blast you!” said Jimί , “I saw no woman at all!”

“Well, that is very strange,” said Paddy, telling him what I have told you about the woman who had been all the way from Glencolmcille with him and who had told him she was going to stop there overnight.

Well and good. Between then and nightfall Paddy needed an ounce of tobacco and went west to a shop in Malinmore and asked for the tobacco. The man of the shop gave it to him and he threw over the shilling and got the change out of it. Going the road home from the west he put his hand in his pocket and looked at his money and saw that he had the change and the shilling as well.

He went on like that for a long time. No matter what shop or tavern he would go into he would get change for anything he would buy and when he put his hand in his pocket the shilling would be back in it. He kept it in that way for a couple of years, but at last he began to fear it. He feared that it might lead him some time to drink too much and to some unknown calamity—that that was maybe why it had been put in his way.

He went to the priest in Glencolmcille and told what had happened. The priest put his stole around his neck and made the Sign of the Cross on the shilling and it vanished as a drop of water. That was the end of Paddy Ó Gadhra’s fairy shilling.

tolong berikan contoh descriptive text ttg kucing dunk. klau bhs Inggrisnya "kucimg itu mempunyai banyak anak" pakai kitten atau children utk menunjukkan anak?

The Turkish Angora (Turkish: Ankara Kedisi) is a breed of domestic cat. Turkish Angoras are one of the ancient, naturally-occurring cat breeds, having originated in central Turkey, in the Ankara region.

Contents

[hide]
//

[edit] Physical characteristics

They mostly have a white, silky, medium-long length coat, no undercoat and fine bone structure. There seems to be a connection between Ankara Cats and Persians (see below), and the Turkish Angora is also a distant cousin of the Turkish Van. Although they are known for their shimmery white coat, currently there are more than twenty varieties including black, blue, reddish fur. They come in tabby and tabby-white, along with smoke varieties, and are in every color other than pointed, lavender, and cinnamon (all of which would indicate breeding to an outcross).

Eyes may be blue, green or amber, or even one blue and one amber. The W gene responsible for white coat and blue eye is closely related to the hearing ability, and presence of a blue eye can indicate the cat is deaf to the side the blue eye is located. However, a great many blue and odd-eyed white cats have normal hearing, and even deaf cats lead a very normal life if indoors.

Ears are pointed and large, eyes are almond shaped and the head is massive with a two plane profile. Another characteristic is the tail, which is often kept parallel to the back.

[edit] Behavioral characteristics

Turkish Angora is an intelligent, adorable and a very curious breed which is very active throughout their life-span. Some Turkish Angoras will bathe with their owners (another link to the cousin Turkish Van, which is known as "the swimming cat"). They also tend to bond with their owners and try to be the center of attention, often doing their part in conversations. They usually don't like to be held for long, but like to stay in human presence, happily playing for hours.[1]

Catatan: Untuk bentuk plural anak kucing sebaiknya memakai kata "kitten"

Agreement:

I agree completely.

That’s just what I think, of course.

In my opinion, you are correct.

I couldn’t agree.

You’re right.

Sure.

Contoh:

Sherly: Do you agree with the theory just we’ve got?

Rico  : I agree completely with that, since I also read about it in some other books.

Disagreement:

I’m sorry, but I have to disagree.

I couldn’t agree less.

I couldn’t disagree more.

I refuse to believe that …*

No, that’s wrong.*

You’re dead wrong.*

No way!*

Contoh:

Mary                : I get bored with the English lesson, what if we play truant?

Chyntia : I’m sorry, but I have to disagree.
