please give me an example of hortatory exposition and its differences(main differences only^^) from another exposition text..please!!

cos i still couldn't get my teacher's explanation..

Hortatory Exposition

 

The function of the text is to persuade the readers or listeners that something should or shouldn’t be the case.

 

The generic structure is thesis, arguments, recommendation.

 

Example:

Country Concern

Thesis

In all the discussion over the removal of lead from petrol (and the atmosphere) there doesn't seem to have been any mention of the difference between driving in the city and the country.

Argument

While I realize my leaded petrol car is polluting the air wherever I drive, I feel that when you travel through the country, where you only see the another car every five to ten minutes, the problem is not as severe as when traffic is concentrated on city roads.

 

Argument

 Those who want to penalize older, leaded petrol vehicles and their owners don't seem to appreciate that, in the country, there is no public transport to fall back upon and one's own vehicle is the only way to get about.

 

Recommendation

I feel that the country people, who often have to travel huge distances to the nearest town and who already spend a great deal of money on petrol, should be treated differently to the people who live in the city.

Saya ingin bertanya menenai grafik pada kesebangunan,menentukan titik grafik bangun kesebangunan.

 

Maaf pertanyaannya kurang jelas tolong diperbaiki,maksud grafik dalam kesebangunan, titik grafik bangun dalam matematika SMP tidakdikenal.

Bangun apa saja yang dapat dikatakan sebangun?apakah itu jajar genjang, segitiga, layang - layang, persegi, belah ketupat, trapesium.Tolong jelaskan alasannya.

Semua bangun dapat dikatakan sebangun asal memenuhi syarat-syaratnya yaitu sudut-sudut yang bersesuaian sama besar dan sisi-sisi yang bersesuaian sebanding. Sedangkan dua bangun yang pasti sebangun adalah segitiga sama sisi, persegi, segi lima beraturan,  segi enam beraturan, ........, lingkaran.

Tujuan Komunikatif :   Struktur Teks:nciri-ciri seseorang, suatu benda atau tempat tertentu.   * Pengenalan benda, orang atau sesuatu yang akan dideskripsikan. * Deskripsi: menggambarkan ciri-ciri benda tersebut,misalnya berasal dari mana, warnanya, ukurannya, kesukaannya dsb. Deskripsi ini hanya memberikan informasi mengenai benda atau orang tertentu yang sedang dibahas saja, misalnya deskripsi tentang ‘My Dog’. Ciri-ciri ‘anjing saya’ tersebut dapat berbeda dengan anjing yang lain.

Dengan penjelasan diatas, silahkan anda memilih sebuah obyek kemudian cobalah menulis tentang obyek tersebut. Silahkan mencoba.

Procedure, the communicative purpose is to tell the steps of making or doing something. (Tujuan komunikatif nya: memberi petunjuk cara melakukan sesuatu melalui serangkaian tindakan atau langkah.) 

Generic Structure: Goal/Aim – Materials/Tools – Steps/Methods

Language Features of Procedure text:

-         Imperative form, ex: Cut, Pour,  Don’t mix, dsb.

-         action verbs: turn, put, don’t, mix, dsb.

-         connectives (untuk mengurutkan kegiatan), ex: then, while, dsb.

-         adverbials (untuk menyatakan rinci waktu, tempat, cara yang akurat), ex: for five minutes, two centimetres from the top, dsb.

The Example of Procedure text: 

How to make Lemonade

 

Ingredients:

For each glass use:

 - 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.

- 2 tablespoons of sugar.

- 1 glass of water.

 

Methods:

1. Slice a lemon in half and squeeze the juice into a cup.

2. Take out the seeds.

3. Pour two tablespoons of juice into glass.

4. Add sugar.

5. Add water and stir well.

6. Taste the lemonade. You may want to add more sugar or more lemon to make it

     taste just right.

7. Put it in ice cubes. A drop of red food coloring will make pink lemonade.
