Thanks for the question.
Descriptve text is a text which describes things, person, or animal in specific way, while report text is a text which describes things in general..
But both texts use timeless present tense.
The example of descriptive text is My lovely house, My cute cat, My garden, etc.
The example of Report text is Animals, Plants, Earthquake, Houses, Hospitals, etc..

Adik Fadhila, untuk menghafal rumus tentunya harus menggunakanya berulang-ulang. yang penting gunakan rumus itu sesuai dengan konteksnya. Mungkin yang dimaksud adalah simple present tense dan simple past tense. Yang dimaksud simple present, adalah waktu sekarang, sedangkan past tense, merujuk pada waktu yang sudah berlalu, atau sudah lewat. Coba bedakan kalimat berikut:
I go to school everyday.
I went to Sarjito Hospital yesterday.
Kata everyday(setiap hari), merujuk pada waktu sekarang, maka kata kerja yang digunakan bentuk pertama atau present tense, sedangkan yesterday artinya kemarin, merujuk pada waktu yang sudahberlalu, maka menggunakan kata kerja bentuk kedua.

Dalam teks tersebut, tense yang digunakan adalah past tense, sehingga kata kerja yang digunakan adalah kata kerja past tense.Untuk diingat, bentuk kata kerja past tense ada yang cukup ditambah ed dibelakangnya atau berubah. Misalnya bentuk past tense dari watch adalah watched, sedangkan get berubah menjadi got. Silahkan cek di daftar kata kerja, atau lihat di kamus. Sedangkan kata be dalam soal tersebut adalah kata yang bisanya orang menyebut”to be”, atau mungkin lebih dikenal dengan, is, am, are. Nah, bentuk past tense dari is adalah was, sedangkan am dan are menjadi were. Seseaikan dengan sabjectnya, Jika dalam soal tersebut I maka kita cari bnetuk past tense dari am, tetapi dalam keseharian I boleh menggunakan was.Kata can merupakan modal, dan bentuk past tensenya menjadi could dan bentuk negatifnya tinggal menambahkan not dibelakangnya, menjadi cloud not.
