Mengapa guru bahasa Inggris mengajar dengan bahasa Inggris dan tidak diterjemahin?
Jawabnya:
Sebagai seorang guru kita adalah model bagi siswa. Ketika yang kita ajarkan adalah bahasa Inggris, maka seharusnya bahasa pengantarnya juga lebih banyak menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Memang awalnya banyak siswa yang tidak paham maksud guru tsb, karena bahasa Inggris bukan bahasa nasionalnya. Tapi ketika hal itu dibiasakan, maka saya yakin siswa akan bisa mengikuti dan pelan tapi pasti siswa menjadi paham.
Ala bisa karena biasa.
Dan mengapa ketika guru berbicara dengan bahasa Inggris tidak langsung diterjemahkan? Karena jika selalu diterjemahkan, maka siswa akan hanya menunggu dan mendengarkan terjemahannya saja, dan itu berdampak negatif.
Sesekali guru boleh menterjemhkan ketika bahasa yang digunakan memang dirasa sulit. Atau diperjelas dengan menyederhanakan bahasa, menggunakan gesture, dsb.nya. Sehingga siswa bisa lebih mudah memahaminya. Trimakasih.
