Telaga Warna

 

A long time ago, there was a kingdom in West Java. The king was wise and kind-hearted. No wonder the king was prosperous. Unfortunately, he hadn’t had any children yet. The king and the queen were too sad. They were lonely. Furthermore, they were worried about who would be their successor. Wanting to have a child, the king went to the forest and prayed to God. God granted his wish. A few months later, the queen got pregnant.

When the baby girl was born, people welcomed happily. They presented many gifts. Day by day, the princess grew more and more beautiful. The king and The Queen spoiled her too much. It made the princess had a bad temper. Before her seventeenth birthday, many people gave her beautiful present. The king took some  gold and jewels. He asked a goldsmith to make a beautiful necklace for the princess.

On the princess birthday, people gathered in the courtyard. Cheers grew louder and louder when the king, queen, and princess appeared. “My beloved daughter, I give this necklace to you. People in this Kingdom Love you so much. It is a gift from them, “said the king while presenting the necklace. The princess looked at it briefly. “I don’t want it. It’s ugly,” she answered. The she threw it away. Everybody was speechless. Nobody could say anything. They didn’t believe that the princess would do so a cruel thing to hurt everybody’s feelings. The queen and the people were sad.

They began crying. Then there was a miracle. The earth was crying, too. Suddenly, a spring emerged from the ground. The water drowned all over the kingdom to be a lake.

People called the lake “Telaga Warna”. On a bright day, it is full colors. The colors come

from the shadows of forest, plants, flowers, and sky around the lake. However, some people

said the shadows are from pieces of princess necklace which are scattered at bottom of the

lake.

Ferocious Lion

Bert was telling his friend, Justin, about his Safari Trip in Africa.  “I came face to face with a ferocious lion.  He was snarling, showing me his long sharp teeth.  He was literally salivating at seeing me.  Man!  I’d never been so scared before.”

“Wow!  I’m glad I wasn’t in your shoes!  So what happened next?  Did you shoot him?”

“No, I didn’t have my gun with me.”

“You didn’t?  Oh, man!  That was really dumb.”

“Yeah, it was so stupid of me.  Anyway, there I stood alone, without gun.  The lion crept closer and closer and closer….  and I ….” Bert stopped and heaved a deep sigh, impatiently, Justin cried, “Come on, man!  What did you do?”

His pal shrugged his shoulders and said, “What could I do?  I moved on to the next cage.”

Assistant : Good morning, Miss. Can I help you?

Tiara : Yes, please. I need a pair of shoes and also a pair of jeans.

Nana : And I want to buy a hat and dress.

Assistant : Oh….. You can find it there.

Tiara : Nana, come here! What do you think about this pair of jeans?

Nana : I think that it’s suitable for you.

Tiara : But, I don’t like the colour.

Nana : It seems that this one is suitable for you. This is blue! Your favourite colour.

Tiara : Yes, correct. I will take this one. And what about you?

Nana : Wait a moment. I’ll choose one of these hats.

Tiara : What colour do you want?

Nana : I want red colour.

Tiara : What about this red one?

Nana : This is very sweet. I’ll try it first.

Tiara : Where is the sitting room?

Assistant : The fitting room is at the corner.

Nana : Ok. Let’s go there.

Mrs. Thufailah : Oh, you put it there. You should put it at its usual place. Can you help me to cook?
Najmi : Surely, mom. What do you want me to do now?
Mrs. Thufailah : Get some chicken from the refrigerator, cut it into small pieces and wash it, okay?
Najmi : Yes, mum. ….. (after a few minutes)
I am through, mum. Here you are.
Mrs. Thufailah : Could you help me to set the table? Your father may be at home soon.
Najmi : Are we going to have dinner at home? He usually doesn’t.
Mrs. Thufailah : He said he would be home for dinner today.
Najmi : Alright. I’ll do it ….. (the telephone is ringing)
Hello, this is Najmi. Who is calling, please?
Hilal : Don’t you recognize my voice? This is Hilal.
Najmi : Hi, Hilal. What happen?
Hilal : Well, nothing special. Well, actually I want you to go with me to a book fair.
Najmi : Not at the moment, please. I am now busy helping my mom preparing for dinner.
Hilal : What a dilligent girl. Okey I understand. How about if we go in this afternoon at 3 or 4 p.m.?
Najmi : Wait for a moment. I’ll ask my mom first, okay? ….. Mom, can I go with Hilal to a book fair this afternoon?
Mrs. Thufailah : Don’t you have any lectures?
Najmi : I’m free and have no lecture this afternoon.
Mrs. Thufailah : If so, of course you may go. But, be at home before 7 p.m.. Remember, we’re having dinner together tonight.
Najmi : Thanks mom. Hallo Hilal, are you still there?
Hilal : Does your mom let you go with me?
Najmi : Yes, she does. Can you pick me up?

Alfa, untuk mengetahui jenis tense dalam kalimat bisa dilihat dari verb (kata kerjanya).

How to take care plant

Beberapa contoh ungkapan untuk mengawali telepon misalnya:

- Good morning, can I speak to ....?

- Jim is speaking, can I speak to ...?

Contoh ungkapan memperpanjang percakapan telepon biasanya tergantung pada topik pembicaraan. Kita bisa mengungkapkan hal-hal situasional ataupun bertanya jawab tentang sesuatu hal dengan W-h questions. Contoh:

-  Where can I get more information about that?

- What should I write on the resume?

- etc. 

Contoh ungkapan menutup percakapan telepon:

- Well the activities sound good,but can we talk more about it later?

- Thanks for calling me. I think we need to meet and talk.

Apakah Yurin sekarang di kelas 9? kalau iya, maka pengertian report text perlu dibedakan dengan teks yang mendeskripsikan tentang sesuatu secara umum seperti yang dipelajari di sekolah. 

Tetapi bila yang dimaksud dalam pertanyaan tentang laporan kejadian maka itu berupa recount text yang berisi tentang pengalaman atau peristiwa pada waktu lampau. Jika inginmenceritakan pengalaman sendiri seperti kunungan ke rumah si pitung, lubang buaya dan keong mas, kami sarankan Yurin untuk mencoba menulis sendiri terlebih dahulu.
