A razor is a tool which is found in nearly every bathroom. A man who has thick hair on his face may have to shave twice a day. It is a habit which can be dangerous. For many years, a razor was a handle with a long piece of steel which was sharp and flat at one end. These razors had a long open blade.
But today’s razors are safer and more convenient to use. The thing which makes today’s razor safe is that the blade is small thin sharp piece of steel. The person who invented razor blades was a man called King Gillette. He was a clever man who had many ideas for new inventions. He wanted to make a blade that was safe and which could be used several times. In 1891, he invented a new type of razor blade. It was short and it was held in a special handle. The sharp edge of the blade did not stick out very far. It was a razor which was safe to use. It was more difficult to cut yourself than with the older type of razor.
Gillette’s razor blade became popular. It was an invention which worked well and which everybody need because each blade only lasted 8 to 10 times. Gillette sold many of his new safety blades and soon became a millionaire.

Assistant : The fitting room is at the corner.

Machiko : I’d like salad fruit, please.
Waiter : Cottage cheese, yoghurt, or sherbet?
Machiko : Er, yoghurt, please.
Waiter : Anything else?
Machiko : Yes, I’ll have some bread and a glass of white wine.
Waiter : (to Roberto) and you?
Roberto : The chef’s salad – large, with bread and red wine, please.
(After the waiter left)
Machiko : The waiter was unfriendly, wasn’t he?
Roberto : No, not unfriendly. He was rude.
(Michiko and Roberto waited more than ten minutes. Their food finally arrived.)
Roberto : Large? This is small salad.
Machiko : And this is sherbet instead of yoghurt.
Roberto : The bread is hard.
Machiko : It’s not fresh at all. It’s stale. I can’t eat it.
Roberto : And I can’t drink this wine chilled. It’s warm.
Machiko : Terrible. There’s no butter for the bread, either.
Roberto : Where’s the waiter?
Machiko : I don’t know. He’s probably gone to lunch at another restaurant.

NARRATIVE TEXT
Long ago on the top of Mount Kinabalu in Borneo, there lived a dragon. He owned a large and beautiful pearl. People believed that he controlled the weather with it.
The emperor of China heard this and wanted the pearl. He sent his two sons, Wee Ping and Wee San to Borneo to steal it. The princes, together with one hundred soldiers, set sail for Borneo in twelve sailing junks.
When they arrived in Borneo, The set out immediately to find the famous mountain. Their journey up the rugged slopes of Mount Kinabalu proved very difficult. The dragon guarded his cave very fiercely and killed many of their soldiers.
Then Wee San had a clever idea. He climbed a tall tree, so he could see the dragon’s cave. He noted what time the dragon left his cave to hunt for food and what time he returned to it.
Next he ordered his men to make a fake pearl and a large kite. He waited until the dragon left his cave. Then he placed the fake pearl in a bag, slung it across his shoulder and flew up to the mountain-top on the kite. He exchanged the real pearl for the fake one and then his brother pulled his kite back to the ground.
The brothers quickly returned to their ships and set sail for China. They sailed safely home. The emperor was thrilled with the pearl and gave a big party to celebrate his sons’ return.

CLASS PICNIC<br>
Last Friday our school went to Centennial Park for a picnic
First our teachers marked the rolls and the we got on the buses. On the buses, everyone was chatting and eating. When we arrived at the park, some students played cricket, some played cards but others went for a walk with the teachers. At lunchtime, we sat together and had our picnic. Finally, at two o’clock we left for school.
We had a great day.

Contoh metode ilmiah simpel:
Seseorang sedang naik sepeda ontel, tiba - tiba terdengar bunyi bergerit pada salah satu onderdil sepeda (masalah).
Pengendara mencari sumber bunyi (inventarisasi masalah)
Pengendara menduga penyebab bunyi (hipotesis)
Pengendara mencoba membetulkan onderdil sumber bunyi (eksperimen)
Pengendara menemukan penyebab bunyi derit setelah melakukan perbaikan (kesimpulan)
Bila ternyata masih timbul bunyi lagi, maka urutan diulang dari awal (inventarisasi masalah)

1.jelaskan mengapa ginjal berwarna merah ?
2. lapisan medula ginjal terdiri dari saluran-saluran yang kemudian bergabung membentuk ureter. apakah peran saluran-saluran itu ?
3. jelaskan cara kerja ginjal ?
4. di samping menyaring zat buangan dari darah, apa fungsi lain ginjal ?
4. Fungsi ginjal selain menyaring darah adalah mengatur tekanan osmosis cairan tubuh, pada bagian atas ginjal (supra renalis) menghasilkan hormon adrenalin.
