Guru.. tolong berikan text narrative tentang The Legend of Mount Kinabalu.

Tolong cepat yach.. 

Long ago on the top of Mount Kinabalu in Borneo, there lived a dragon. He owned a large and beautiful pearl. People believed that he controlled the weather with it.

The emperor of China heard this and wanted the pearl. He sent his two sons, Wee Ping and Wee San to Borneo to steal it. The princes, together with one hundred soldiers, set sail for Borneo in twelve sailing junks.

When they arrived in Borneo, The set out immediately to find the famous mountain. Their journey up the rugged slopes of Mount Kinabalu proved very difficult. The dragon guarded his cave very fiercely and killed many of their soldiers.

Then Wee San had a clever idea. He climbed a tall tree, so he could see the dragon’s cave. He noted what time the dragon left his cave to hunt for food and what time he returned to it.

Next he ordered his men to make a fake pearl and a large kite. He waited until the dragon left his cave. Then he placed the fake pearl in a bag, slung it across his shoulder and flew up to the mountain-top on the kite. He exchanged the real pearl for the fake one and then his brother pulled his kite back to the ground.

The brothers quickly returned to their ships and set sail for China. They sailed safely home. The emperor was thrilled with the pearl and gave a big party to celebrate his sons’ return.

 The Tasmanian devil

 

The Tasmanian devil is a marsupial – an animal that feeds and carries its young in a pouch. It lives only in Tasmania and was called a devil by the early European settlers because of its fierce appearance and loud screeching.
The devil is the same size as a small dog. It has a large head, a stocky body and a short, thick tail. While the fur is mostly black, there are often white markings on the back and chest. Because the devil is a nocturnal animal (it is active at night), it spends the days in the dense bush and hunts for food after dark.
While it can catch prey the size of a small wallaby the devil often feeds on the bodies of dead sheep and cows from farms. Its very powerful jaws and teeth enable it to eat bones and fur as well as the meat. Farmers are pleased that devils stop the spread of disease by removing the rotting bodies of dead animals. Groups of devils eat together from the same carcass – body of a dead animal – and they are such noisy eaters that they can be heard for several kilometers.
Devils breed in March and the young are born in April. While more are born, only two or three babies survive to live in their mother’s pouch for four months. They move with their mother into a whole or a hollow log until they are ready to live on their own in the bush at the end of December. Devils live until they are seven or eight years old.
Recently adult devils have been affected by cancer. This begins with lumps around the mouth and spreads to the face and neck. Scientists are studying the cancers so they can find out the cause and save the devil population in Tasmania.

sya ingin bertanya, kapan di ajarkan tata bahasa untuk smp, karena  yang diajarkan dalam ktsp adalah teks (5 teks) dan fungtional teks pendek. 

Terimakasih atas pertanyaan adik,

Tata bahasa diberikan saat 'building knowledge of the field', dimana di tahapan tersebut siswa kita persiapkan untuk memahami semua tata bahasa yang terkait dengan topik atau teks yang akan kita berikan.

Misalnya: sebelum kita mengajarkan teks recount, maka kita harus menjelaskan ke siswa tentang 'past tense dan past continuous tense' melalui contoh teks recount yg kemudian kita analisis penggunaan kata kerja bentuk lampaunya. Setelah itu kita expose siswa untuk terus memahami penggunaan kata kerja lampau dalam teks recount, shg akhirnya mereka bisa menggunakannya dengan benar.

The Three Sheiks and Queen of Arabia

Maura, who liked to be thought of as the most beautiful and powerful queen of Arabia, had many suitors. One by one she discarded them, until her list was reduced to just threes sheiks, all equally young and handsome, rich and strong. It was very hard to decide who would be the best of them.
One evening, Maura disguised herself and went to the camp of the three sheiks, as they were about to have dinner, and asked them for something to eat.
The first gave her some leftover food; the second gave her some unappetizing camel’s tail; the third sheik, who was called Hakim, offered her some of the most tender and tasty meat. After dinner, the disguised queen left the sheiks’ camp.
The following day the queen invited the three sheiks to dinner at her palace. She ordered her servants to give each one exactly what they had given her the evening before.
Hakim, who received a plate of delicious meat, refused to eat it if the other two could not share it with him, and this act finally convinced Queen Maura that he was the man for her.
“Without question, Hakim is the most generous of you,” she announced her choice to the sheiks, “So, it is Hakim I will marry.”

All praises be to Allah SWT, the lord of the world, the master of the day after, the creator of everything in this Universe, where he has no partner. He has also given us such deeply enjoyable, particularly faith and healthy comfort, hence, we could attend here in a good situation.
Peace and Salutation be upon our prophet Muhammad SAW, who has taught us the cardinal principles of the unity of God, obliged us to confess it with the tongue and believe it in the heart. He also has brought us from the darkness to the brightness, from stupidity to cleverness, in the other word “Minazzhulumaati Ilannuur”

COMMEMORATION OF NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Last week our country commemorated of national education day May 2, 2007 .On the day, every cavities of education commemorated it, to remember the struggle of Ki Hajar Dewantara who was born on that day. Why commemoration of educational day must be held? Why every May 2, every people in Indonesia commemorate it as a National Education Day?. It because a commemoration have mean philosophical and pedagogical meaning referring to the last time. I think commemoration National Education Day is intended to improve people’s consciousness, if education is very important and needed by all people to run of their life and become to be better for the future, in this world or in the day after.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Furthermore, in my opinion why national education day is commemorated, because it will motivate every cavities of education to understand the importance of education. So that, the next they will be more diligently and be better in doing their duty. For example every students must learn diligently to reach their ambitions, teachers must do their duty with full responsible and dedication. Likewise, officials who design rules about education if they have consciousness and high motivation they will be better again in do their job.
So that, it will be created good human resources and we must know if education will make creative, standalone and responsible people. And don’t forget the educational for all people.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
For all my friends who participate in this selection of students’ achievement, will invite you to figure out the heroism of Ki Hajar Dewantoro as founding father and struggler in Education area some times ago. We are young generations and also expectation of our nation, who will fight for our country and religion in the future. We are young generations as a symbol of spirit which never overcame, we are young generations as a symbol of courage which never fade, and we are young generation as a symbol of power which never destroy. On our back, what will be happened in our Nation exist for the future time. Good or bad the existence of this country is depending on us. Therefore, I hope this momentum can make us become a good in quality, a good achievement, so that we can give the best things for our country particularly Sukabumi regency.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I think it’s completely enough for me to this point. The wrong utterances are caused by limitation of my ability and the right one is merely from Allah SWT. So, I beg your pardon, finally I say.

Conjunctive Adverb

A conjunctive adverb connects two independent clauses or sentences. Other adverbs modify or add to a word, but a conjunctive affects two sentences. The word “conjunctive” comes from the Latin for “join together.”

A conjunctive adverb brings together two complete thoughts. Each clause can stand on its own as a sentence. The first clause is followed by a semi-colon.  Sometimes there is a comma after the conjunctive adverb.  

Following is a list of conjunctive adverbs: also, anyway, besides, certainly, earlier, finally, further, for instance, for example, however, hence, in addition, instead, later, likewise, moreover, namely, next, now, nevertheless, on the other hand, otherwise, perhaps, so, still, then, therefore, thus, and undoubtedly. 

Conjunctive adverbs can be grouped according to function. This may help you understand them a bit better:

  • Sometimes their function is addition, and examples of these would be: “in addition, next, still, also, and again.”
  • Comparison is another way they work, such as words like “also, likewise, and similarly.”
  • Concession is sometimes made with words like “granted and of course.”
  • Adverbs like “although, instead, in spite of, and regardless”, show a contrast.
  • Sometimes emphasis is the function, with words like “indeed, of course, and certainly.”
  • Conjunctive adverbs can illustrate with words such as: “for example, namely, thus, and in conclusion.”
  • Words that summarize include: “all in all, that is, in summary, and finally.”
  • Time can be referred to with these words: “before, meanwhile, furthermore, lately, now, since, and thereafter.”      

Examples

Conjunctive adverbs are also called adverbial conjunctions. Here are a few examples to further illustrate what they do for sentences.

  • I wanted to see a scary movie; however, my friend wanted to see a comedy.
  • You need to concentrate on your studies; otherwise, you will fail the class.
  • The thunder and lightning were intense; consequently, the crowd dispersed.
  • He enjoyed getting a new tie; nevertheless, a sports car would have been a better gift.
  • We really need to go to the mall; in addition, we should see a movie.
  • Conjunctive adverbs act like conjunctions; however, they are adverbs.
