Ilham, kalimat ' I ask you to buy a newspaper' bisa digantikan atau artinya sama dengan 'I have you buy a newspaper' atau 'I get you to buy a newspaper'. Penggunaan kata 'have' dan 'get' dalam kalimat disini adalah penggunaan 'causative' yaitu yang artinya menyuruh. Jadi kata 'ask' bisa diganti dengan 'have' atau 'get'. Tetapi perhatikan penggunaanya atau kata kerja setelah object.
Kalimat tadi artinya sama sepeti ini 'I have a newspaper bought' atau 'I get a newspaper bought'.
Kalau belum jelas bisa tanya lagi.
