How to Use the Fan on an Air Conditioner

  1. Use the fan on your air conditioner's window unit when you expect the temperature to feel warm rather than hot. In spring, you may wish to run the air conditioner mid-day, when temperatures are at their highest. At night, you can turn on the fan to keep the room cool without it getting too cold.
  2. Turn on the fan of your air conditioner while driving. Many times, the air in the car gets stale. Circulate the air with your air conditioner's fan feature.
  3. Add an in-duct booster fan to your central air conditioning unit. If you're trying to add more power to your air conditioner, you can use an in-duct booster fan to improve the circulation of your air conditioning unit.
  4. Close off the area when using the fan of an air conditioner. If you want the air conditioning unit to effectively cool with only the fan, you should keep the area contained.

Para guru-guru yg terhormat, saya minta tolong untuk dibuatkan contoh prosedur, tapi bukan prosedur untuk membuat suatu makanan atau minuman, tetapi prosedur untuk melakukan suatu barang (misal ; membuat pesawat kertas)..

Here's the steps on how to create an origami paper plane
  1. Fold the square piece of paper along the two diagonals on DIG. 1 creasing well on both lines and opening out the paper again afterwards.

  2. Now fold along the dotted line in DIG. 2 bringing the left hand edge to the diagonal center line from top right to bottom left. This will give you DIG. 3 .

  4. Fold the tip down on the existing crease as shown by the arrow in DIG. 4 .

Perhatikan ungkapan yang dicetak tebal berikut ini:

            Fina      : Turn on the channel 7.

Dude    : Pardon?

Fina      : Mount Merapi erupted again yesterday evening! Watch the news on television?

Dude    : What did you say? I can’t hear your voice!

Fina      : It’s better not to turn your radio out loud.

Dude    : Sorry. You said about Mount Merapi.

Fina      : Yes. Let’s listen to the news about its eruption.

Dude    : Oh God!

 

 

Rimmy  : Are you sure it’s the correct steps of making this traditional cake, Dian?

Dian                 : I’m certain to  the way of cooking but I doubt with the amount of flour and grated coconut for good portion.

Rimmy              : Well, you do the steps right, but I wonder why the dough is stuck on the pan. There must be something wrong with the dough.

Dian                 : Let me think about it. Well.  I’m sure we need more fat for it but it’s no oil must be used, for sure.

Rimmy  : You’re right. Maybe we can add more grated coconut to make it greasy.

Dian                 : Good idea. Let’s try again.

 

Dalam dialog di atas “Are you sure …..? adalah contoh pemakaian ungkapan meminta kepastian. “I’m certain “ dan “I’m sure “ mengungkapkan kepastian. Sedangkan

I doubt” adalah ungkapan ketidakpastian/keraguan (uncertainty).

 

 

Berikut adalah contoh dialog yang menggunakan ‘uncertainty’

 

Fina      : Are you sure it’s the correct formula to solve the Math problem, Diko?

Diko     : I’m certain to it but I quite doubt with its thing units. We’ll have to be sure with that so that we’ll get the precious amount, right?

Fina      : Of course, it’s important to have them right. Let’s have a look again on the final required unit and think about that.

Diko     : Yes and I’m sure we can do it.

 

Dalam dialog di atas “Are you sure …..? adalah contoh pemakaian ungkapan meminta kepastian. “I’m certain “ dan “I’m sure “ mengungkapkan kepastian. Sedangkan

I doubt” adalah ungkapan ketidakpastian/keraguan (uncertainty).

Analytical adalah salah satu jenis text dalam bahasa inggris. pelajarilah ini:

ANALYTICAL EXPOSITION

Social function: To persuade the readers or the listeners that something in the case, to analyze or to explain.
Generic Structure:
1. Thesis (usually includes a preview argument. It introduces topics and indicates the writer’s position.)
2. Arguments (consists of a point and elaboration sequence. The number of points may vary, but each must be supported by discussion and evidence).
3. Reiteration (restates the position more forcefully in the light of the arguments presented).
Language features:
 Emotive words such as : alarmed, worried.
 Words that qualify statements such as: usual probably
 Words that link arguments such as: firstly, however, on the other hand, therefore.
 Usually present tense
 Compound and complex sentences

 

HORTATORY EXPOSITION

Social function: To persuade the readers or the listeners that something should or should not be the case.

TSUNAMIS

A tsunami is a series of waves generated when water in a lake or in the sea is rapidly displaced on a massive scale. Earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions and large meteorite impacts all have the potential to generate a tsunami. The effects of a tsunami can range from unnoticeable to devastating.
The term of tsunami comes from the Japanese language meaning harbour (tsu) and wave (nami). Although in Japanese tsunami is used for both singular and plural, in English “tsunamis” is well-established as the plural. The term was created by fisherman who returned to port to find the area surrounding the harbour devastated, although they had not been aware of any wave in the open water. A tsunami is not a sub-surface event in the deep ocean; it simply has a much smaller amplitude (wave heights) offshore, a very long wavelength (often hundreds kilometers long), which is why they generally pass unnoticed at sea, forming only a passing “hump” in the ocean.
Tsunamis have been historically referred to as “tidal waves” because as they approach land they take on the characteristics of a violent onrushing tide rather than the sort of cresting waves that are formed by wind action upon the ocean (with which people are more familiar).
