Due to the 20^th school anniversary celebration, our school will hold many kinds of competition. They are story telling, singing contest, news reading contest and speech. Thus, each class has to send at least 2 students to join it. Please enroll the students’ name to Patricia by  June 20. All the competitions will be conducted on June 25. The winners will be announced on June 27 after having flag ceremony.    For further information, please ask your class teacher. Thank you.

 Prague

Is there any city in Europe, or else, like Prague? There has been a city here for over a thousand years, and now 2.250.000 people live here. It is most famous for its Gothic and Baroque building styles. Old Town Square, with its wonderful clock, the Charles Bridge, and Prague Castle on the hill above the river are just a few of Prague’s famous attractions.

       Getting around Prague is easy by tram or underground train but it’s also a pedestrian’s dream because much of the old quarter and many of the streets and lanes have little or no traffic. The medieval center is Prague castle and St Vitus Cathedral. An evening view of these illuminated landmarks is one of the most memorable sights in Europe. Wenceslas Square is in the heart of modern Prague.

       Visiting Prague today, you immediately notice the lively atmosphere. The city can be crowded during the hot summer months, but it is delight to visit any time of the year, even in the snowy cold of winter. In fact, tourism makes the largest contribution to Prague’s economy. Classical concerts take place all through the year, though the biggest event is the Prague Spring International Music Festival in May and early June. Theatre also has a special place in the life of the city.

         The suburbs are like many in Eastern Europe with tall sky crappers and some light industry, but you are very quickly in the sleepy villages and gentle hills of Bohemia. Many people say Prague reminds them of Vienna or Budapest. But in fact, Prague is unique. There’s nowhere quite like it.

Karena kedua lingkaran bersinggungan di luar maka jarak pusat kedua lingkaran d = 12,5 + 4,5 = 17 cm, sehingga panjang garis sinngung persekutuan luarnya dapat dicari sbb :

g² = d² - (r₂ - r_1)²

     = 17² - (12,5 - 4,5)²

    = 289 - 64

    = 225

d = √225

   = 15

Jadi panjang garis singgung persekutuan luarnya adalah 15 cm

Pak /bu mohon dijelaskan tentang penyebab terjadinya efek rumah kaca, eutofikasi

 

Efek rumah kaca disebabkan adanya pencemar berupa gas buangan yang berkumpul diatas atmosfir, contoh: CO₂, CO. Sisa panas yang ada di permukaan bumi seharusnya  dibuang keluar atmosfir tetapi karena adanya  gas pencemar maka dipantulkan lagi ke permukaan bumi sehingga permukaan bumi menjadi lebih pana.

Eutrofikasi atau perkembangan alga yang berlebihan disebabkan karena adanya pencemaran yang bersifat menyuburkan suatu perairan contoh  limbah dari kotoran ternak, deterjen.

Gerak pada tumbuhan disebut gerak pasif karena tumbuhan tidak memiliki alat gerak yang khas,  sebagian atau seluruh  bagian  tubuh tumbuhan bergerak karena adanya respon dari luar yang ditanggapinya. Sedang hewan pada umumnya memiliki alt gerak tertentu yang memungkinkan hewan bergerak bebas dan berpindah tempat.

A Small Experiment

An elderly gentleman of 85 feared his wife was getting hard of hearing. So one day he called her doctor to make an appointment to have her hearing checked. The Doctor made an appointment for a hearing test in two weeks, and meanwhile there’s a simple informal test the husband could do to give the doctor some idea of the state of her problem.
“Here’s what you do,” said the doctor, “start out about 40 feet away from her, and in a normal conversational speaking tone see if she hears you. If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on until you get a response.”
That evening, the wife is in the kitchen cooking dinner, and he’s in the living room. He says to himself, “I’m about 40 feet away, let’s see what happens.”
Then in a normal tone he asks, “Honey, what’s for supper?” No response.
So the husband moved to the other end of the room, about 30 feet from his wife and repeats, “Honey, what’s for supper?” Still no response.
Next, he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his wife and asks, “Honey, what’s for supper?” Again he gets no response.
So he walks up to the kitchen door, only 10 feet away. “Honey, what’s for supper?” Again there is no response.
So he walks right up behind her. “Honey, what’s for supper?”
“Damn it Earl, for the fifth time, CHICKEN!”
